First Source Engineering.com (FSE) is the single-point worldwide sourcing portal for all your engineering and manufacturing products. First Source can arrange for all types of domestic (U.S.) and international shipments.
SHIPPING TERMS AND CHARGES (U.S. and Canada)
Unless otherwise noted, all shipments are made F.O.B. shipping point, referring to an individual product. The shipping point for each product can vary based on the location of each manufacturer as well as their specific terms.
Shipping charges are calculated based on the actual product weight as well as its origin, along with the destination and type of shipping service that you specify (ground shipment, next day, second day, third day etc).
The individual shipping method is determined by the size and weight of each item. Even if they are ordered together, items that differ in size and weight may ship independently, or by different methods.
Most smaller items will be shipped via UPS.
Any items that are too large or too heavy for UPS will be shipped by truck with a minimum shipping fee for their delivery applied. Someone must be present at the destination to receive and sign for all truck deliveries.
Standard truck delivery should be to a dock facility that is designed to receive freight. With 24-hours notice, deliveries can be made to residences, inside deliveries or facilities with a lift gate. An additional charge may apply.
Unless otherwise noted, freight and shipping fees will be charged for shipments to anyplace in the contiguous United States, from the manufacturer, using a carrier of our choice. Other terms apply to orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada or Puerto Rico, as well as for export orders.
Any extra charges incurred for incremental services, such as utilizing a customer's carrier or special handling by a carrier, must be paid by the consignee. Items that are backordered from an order that ships prepaid will also be shipped prepaid. Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon tender of shipment to the carrier. In case of LTL damages, we adhere to the NMFC (National Motor Freight Classification) laws as regulated by the Federal Government of the United States.
Collect Shipments
We are glad to ship via your specified carrier (if you provide your account number). However, we reserve the right to not ship with certain carriers if we have a negative past history with that carrier.
In the case of collect shipments, it is the responsibility of the customer (and not First Source) to file any claims for damages or loss with the carrier.

When you place an order, we can estimate shipping and delivery dates based on the availability of your items and the shipping option that you select.
- Via UPS Ground is 3 - 8 Business Days
- Via UPS Second Day is 2 Business Days
- Via UPS Next Day Air is 1 Business Day
- Via Truck is 3-8 Business Days
First Source can also arrange for worldwide shipment of products via ground, truckload or LTL. air, rail or ship.
WARRANTIES AND RETURNS
Unless otherwise noted, the return policy and warranty can vary for each product depending on each manufacturer’s specific terms as they relate to that product.
Return Policy
If you are not satisfied with the quality of a product you ordered through FSE, please contact us within 30 days of delivery. After inspection, we will arrange with the manufacturer for a refund to be issued, excluding freight charges. Custom-cut, custom fabricated or special order items are excluded.
Any returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition and is subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Before you return a product, you must call 1- 630-874-0447 to be issued a “Return Merchandise Authorization Number” (RMA #). In order to be issued your RMA #, you need to have the following information on hand when calling:
- Your company name
- Invoice number
- Product serial number (if applicable)
- Reason that the product is being returned
FSE inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, misused or non-resalable items.
In cases of approved returns, your sole obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee where applicable, provided that your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc.
FSE reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days has passed from the invoice date. If the product is accepted by the Manufacturer after this time, it is subject to a 15% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only. Leased items are not returnable.
Shipping and Handling Charges for Returns
For any and all returns, shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. The customer returning the merchandise is responsible for any shipping charges on those products and should ship them using a method that allows for the shipments to be traced. Each shipment also needs to be insured against loss or damage.
Limitations of Liability
In no event shall First Source Engineering or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates be liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages incurred including but not limited to loss of use, loss of business or profits, or loss of data. Because some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to your company.
Warranty Limitations
Except as specifically set forth herein, First Source Engineering makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and disclaims all other warranties, including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or conformity to models or samples. Some states do not allow there to be limitations on implied warranties, so in those cases, these limitations may not apply to your company.
The warranties set forth herein provide you with specific legal rights. In addition, you may have other rights that vary from state to state.
